Fovelio is designed to make folder-based viewing feel immediate. Start with the checks below if something interrupts that flow.
Opening a folder
Choose the folder that contains the media you want to browse. Fovelio asks macOS for access only to folders you explicitly select and remembers the most recently authorized location.
Browsing a ZIP archive
Open a supported standard ZIP archive from the folder tree to browse its images without extracting them. ZIP browsing is read-only. Encrypted and ZIP64 archives are not supported.
360° and Immersive View
For a compatible equirectangular image, select the 360° control, then drag the scene and scroll or pinch to change the field of view. For an ordinary image, select Immersive View and drag to explore its spatial presentation.
Playing a slideshow
Select the slideshow control to set timing, transitions, presentation mode, and optional local background music. Music accompanies live playback and is not embedded in exported video. Press Escape to leave full-screen playback.
RAW and HDR availability
Camera RAW support depends on the RAW formats supported by your version of macOS. HDR presentation also depends on the image, macOS display path, and the capabilities of the connected display. Fovelio uses a color-correct fallback when an HDR path is unavailable.
Background removal and clarity
These tools process eligible static SDR images locally and export new files without changing the originals. Background removal exports transparent PNG files when Apple Vision can identify a foreground subject. Clarity optimization uses traditional local image processing and does not invent missing detail.
Folder access changed
If a folder was renamed, moved to another volume, or disconnected, reconnect the volume and choose the folder again when macOS requests access.
Availability
Fovelio is available on the Mac App Store.
